Hand Weaving
Hand Weaving

The act of taking fiber and weaving something soft, comforting, and beautiful, appeals to me because I enjoy creating functional objects that enhance a person’s life.

I often use recycled materials, such as cut up vintage kimono and thrift shop silk blouses and enjoy seeing the unexpected results.

Weaving is powered by the body and in sync with the loom. This approach echoes the time-honored techniques of our ancestors, which is my way of keeping this ancient art alive.

My art – hand-woven bags, vests, jackets, placemats, table runners, scarves, and shawls – is inspired by a love for color, texture, and math.
